At RTN Dog Training & Boarding, we believe dog daycare should be more than a place to drop your dog off for the day. Our structured dog daycare in Auburn provides supervised play, socialization, training reinforcement and scheduled rest in a safe, controlled environment.
We serve families throughout Auburn, Opelika and the surrounding Lee County area, giving dogs an opportunity to stay active, build confidence, practice good social skills and learn appropriate behaviors while you're at work or away for the day.
Unlike traditional open-play daycare, our dogs participate in small, supervised groups led by our professional training team. We carefully consider each dog's personality, energy level and social needs when determining appropriate group placement.
Our daycare groups are intentionally kept small, with no more than 10 dogs per group. Every group is directly supervised by members of our professional training team.
Dogs aren't simply turned loose to play all day. Our team actively monitors interactions, manages energy levels and helps dogs practice appropriate social behaviors.

Dogs thrive when they have a balance of activity and rest. That's why our daycare follows a structured schedule rather than allowing dogs to remain in constant play throughout the day.
Our typical schedule includes approximately two hours of structured play followed by one hour of rest, with additional enrichment and training opportunities throughout the day.
Scheduled rest helps prevent dogs from becoming overstimulated and gives them time to decompress before returning to group activities.

Because RTN is also a professional dog training facility, your dog can benefit from training reinforcement while attending daycare.
Our team can reinforce basic obedience, manners, impulse control, appropriate social behavior and other skills your dog is currently learning.
This doesn't mean every daycare day is a formal training session. Instead, we use everyday opportunities throughout the day to reinforce good behavior and help dogs practice the skills they already know.
Not every dog is a good candidate for group daycare, and that's okay.
Our structured environment can be particularly beneficial for dogs that become easily overstimulated, need help developing appropriate social skills or benefit from more guidance during interactions with other dogs.
Before participating in daycare, we evaluate each dog to determine whether group daycare is an appropriate and safe option. Dogs that aren't a good fit for group daycare may benefit from one of our training or other care options instead.
Structured daycare can be a great fit for:
Puppies and young dogs may also benefit from structured daycare when they're developmentally ready and have completed RTN's evaluation and vaccination requirements.
RTN is proud to have been recognized by the Opelika-Auburn News Best of OA for excellence in dog daycare. We're grateful for the recognition, but our biggest measure of success is the trust local families place in us to care for their dogs.

We believe that all dogs can be good dogs, and all owners can be great owners, all it takes is a little bit of training, lots of love, and of course, plenty of praise along the way.
